How can we contribute to the shaping of the strategy?
The IPPF members are primary stakeholders in the development of the new strategy. Your voices will guide the process and your ideas will shape the content.
There are many ways to get involved. Below we have highlighted some of the main avenues.
RESEARCH (QUARTER 1 & 2 2021)
The new strategy design process is already under way. Starting in February, the Secretariat will commission new research to help inform our strategic choices. We will also be looking at the organisational data that is available to understand our full global footprint. Please feel free to share any new research you have done that you think may be relevant. You may also be contacted by the researchers to provide input.
RADICAL LISTENING (QUARTER 2 & 3 2021)
Radical listening, is about IPPF listening to clients and stakeholders in the sector. We want to reach people who may not always take part in our internal processes. We are seeking input in a number of different ways:
- Social Media Challenge Watch this space. We will soon launch a competition with a cool prize. We are looking for your thought-pieces and opinions. You can do them in a variety of different formats – no limits, no boundaries. The contributions will be read out during our events, and shared on the IPPF websites.
- Roundtable Talks We are planning a series of roundtable discussions on a range of exciting topics to be decided by you. The overall theme will be SRHR beyond Cairo. If you want to join a panel, or to host a round-table discussion on an issue related to the theme, please write to us at strategy2028@ippf.org or download the tool Arabic; English; Espanol; Francais;
- MA Consultations It is essential that we hear from the clients and communities you serve. In May 2021 you will be able to download a consultation tool here for use in your country. The Consultations will form an important part of the strategic design process. The deadline for submission is 31 July 2021.
VISIONING OUR FUTURE (QUARTER 3 & 4 2021)
At the regional forums planned for later in the year, we will be organising a series of workshops aimed at shaping a common vision for the sort of world we will be helping to shape over the next many years. These will be participatory and interactive spaces.
CO-CREATING THE FRAMEWORK (FEB–JUN 2022)
Once the draft framework has been written, we will run an extensive consultations process. This will allow us all to think through the strategic ambitions and consider whether our narrative and stated goals are radical enough, and whether they deliver on our shared visions and mission. This will mainly be done via the MA Forum.
INDICATIVE VOTE (CA. JULY 2022)
Once we have gone through the consultation and we have a final iteration, this will be presented to the IPPF board for sign-off. After that it will be shared with the membership for an indicative vote.
BUSINESS PLANNING (QUARTER 3 & 4 2022)
Once we have a new framework in place, Members and the Secretariat will have to develop a clear business plan for how we will deliver on our new goals through our work. The business plans will give us an opportunity to think about what we do in our context and how we do it.
